Avionics Mechanic (Entry-Level)

Position Summary

The Entry-Level Avionics Mechanic assists with the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of aircraft electrical and avionics systems. Working under the guidance of experienced technicians, this position provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in aircraft electronics, communications, navigation systems, and aircraft maintenance. This is a 6-month contract to direct hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of avionics units, components, wiring, and equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and specifications.
• Support fabrication and assembly activities for aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
• Learn to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, maintenance procedures, and aircraft documentation.
• Perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and repairs of avionics and electrical systems under supervision.
• Assist with the repair and replacement of wiring harnesses, power distribution systems, communication/navigation equipment, flight control systems, and aircraft monitoring systems.
• Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and specialized avionics tools safely and effectively.
• Assist in servicing aircraft batteries and electrical components to maintain safe operating conditions.
• Work closely with engineers, technicians, and maintenance personnel to complete assigned projects and maintenance tasks.
• Follow all company, customer, FAA, and military safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, vocational training, military training, or coursework in avionics, electronics, electrical systems, aviation maintenance, or a related field preferred.

Experience

• Previous aviation maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
• Military aviation training, technical school projects, internships, apprenticeships, or hands-on electronics experience are highly desirable.
• Basic knowledge of electrical theory, electronics, or aircraft systems preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and follow detailed instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain attention to detail.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain any required security clearances and site access.
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver aircraft components and maintenance equipment as required.

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
