Vice President of Manufacturing

In partnership with our client, a well-established industrial manufacturing company, we are seeking an experienced Vice President of Manufacturing to lead and oversee its operations organization.

The VP of Manufacturing will provide strategic and operational leadership across a multi-site manufacturing organization, with responsibility for manufacturing operations, engineering, safety, quality, operational excellence, procurement, shipping/distribution, and related functions.

This position will play a key role in developing and executing strategies focused on growth, operational efficiency, profitability, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for manufacturing and operational functions across multiple locations.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and implement standardized processes and best practices across the organization.
• Establish and analyze key performance indicators to identify opportunities for cost reduction, improved cycle times, increased output, and quality improvement.
• Oversee daily manufacturing, shipping and receiving, warehousing, inventory, order management, and quality operations.
• Partner with plant leadership teams to establish a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
• Assess current operational capabilities and develop action plans to support current and future business demands.
• Develop and implement succession planning and leadership-development strategies for manufacturing and operations teams.
• Drive process standardization and long-term productivity improvements across multiple facilities.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, sales and marketing, finance, HR, engineering, and other functional leaders to support company initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and other external partners.
• Serve as a visible and engaged leader throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 15 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• 7 years of experience leading multi-site operations.
• Proven success improving productivity, operational performance, and profitability.
• Strong background in continuous improvement and Lean methodologies.
• Experience implementing best practices across multiple manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of operational metrics, productivity tools, and business analytics.
• Demonstrated experience hiring, developing, retaining, and promoting high-performing operations leaders.
• Experience driving process improvement and standardized work across geographically distributed operations.
• Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive organizational change.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to lead collaboratively across functions and influence teams that may not report directly to the position.
• Experience working in a matrixed environment.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and change-management skills.
