Job Overview

ReSOURCE has been a fixture in Vermont since 1991, working at the intersection of workforce development, poverty relief, and environmental stewardship. Our YouthBuild program gives young people ages 16–24 a path to a high school credential, real job skills, and a career they can build on.

The YouthBuild Instructor & Transition Coordinator, reporting to the YouthBuild Program Manager, carries two connected responsibilities: delivering hands-on, proficiency-based academic instruction that moves students toward a high school diploma or equivalency, and coordinating each student’s transition into employment, post-secondary education, or advanced training.

Because the same person teaches students and helps plan their next step, this role is uniquely positioned to build trusted relationships and provide continuity of support from enrollment through graduation and beyond. This position combines responsibilities previously held by two separate roles, and its scope has been set intentionally to fit a .75 FTE schedule.

Approximate time allocation

· Classroom instruction and academic progress — approximately 60% (about 18 hours per week).

· Transition coordination and career development — approximately 30% (about 9 hours per week).

· Program support, safety, and team collaboration — approximately 10% (about 3 hours per week).

What you bring

· Two or more years of experience teaching, training, coaching, or case managing youth or young adults in an education, workforce development, or human services setting.

· Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with young people who face significant barriers to education and employment.

· Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with employers and community partners.

· Competent use of standard office software, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

· Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

· Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and accomplish goals.

· Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for local travel to employer, partner, and student sites.

Schedule & Location

Position: .75 FTE, approximately 30 hours per week

Schedule: Aligned with the YouthBuild program calendar. Occasional evening or weekend hours for community events.

Location: Barre

Pay Range: $23 - $25 per hour, depending on experience
