We are hiring Reuse Specialists to join our thrift retail team in Barre, VT. You can expect a mission-driven workplace and people-first culture; we value respect, trust, collaboration, and inclusion. You’ll fight climate change by keeping reusable materials out of the landfill and providing an essential service to customers.
Reuse Specialists meet the varied expectations of a generalist position (receiving, cash register, merchandising, customer service). In this role, you will:
- Provide friendly, professional customer service to both donors and shoppers.
- Sort, price, and display donations to keep the store organized and stocked with seasonally appropriate items.
- Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system accurately to help customers complete their purchases
- Help open and close the store and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Move items in and out of the store (with team support and equipment).
- Merchandising and stocking of sales floor to maximize shopping opportunities
Job Requirements
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to a wide range of people.
- Comfort with physical work: lifting to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally with equipment.
- Interest in learning about thrift retail operations and reuse strategies.
- Reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Hours: Flexible scheduling—full-time, part-time, weekends, seasonal
- Store Hours: Monday–Saturday, 9AM - 6PM, closed Sundays
- Location: ReSOURCE Barre Retail Store.
- Pay: $16.00–$17.00 per hour.
