Laborer/ Picker

ReSource Waste Services of Epping Inc. is looking for reliable, hardworking Picker/Sorters to join our Construction & Demolition (C&D) recycling facility.

As a Picker/Sorter, you’ll work as part of a team on a processing line, manually sorting materials from a moving conveyor belt and helping recover valuable materials from the waste stream.

No recycling experience required. Training provided!

What You'll Do:

• Hand-sort materials from a moving conveyor belt.
• Identify and remove recyclable and recoverable materials.
• Sort materials including wood, metal, cardboard, plastics, concrete, masonry, drywall and other designated materials.
• Place materials into appropriate bins, hoppers or bunkers.
• Identify hazardous or prohibited materials and notify a supervisor.
• Keep work areas clean and free of debris and hazards.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE. PPE includes high-visibility clothing, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat and appropriate safety-toe footwear. Additional respiratory protection may be required depending on the work area and facility conditions.
• Work with Pickers, equipment operators and supervisors to maintain a safe, productive operation.
• Assist with basic facility maintenance and other duties as needed.
• Qualified employees may have opportunities to operate forklifts, skid steers and other equipment.

What We're Looking For:

• Dependable, punctual and hardworking.
• Safety-conscious and able to work as part of a team.
• Comfortable standing and working on a moving production line for extended periods.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Able to repeatedly bend, reach, twist, push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. or more as needed.
• Comfortable working around dust, noise, debris and moving equipment.
• Previous recycling, construction, manufacturing, warehouse or labor experience is helpful, but not required.
• Mechanical ability or small equipment experience is a plus

Schedule

Monday–Saturday | 40–60 hours per week
