Travelling Commissioning Agent (Cx) - Data Center
Location: Indiana & Michigan
Employment Type: W2 Contract
Duration: Through End of 2026
Start Date: ASAP
Compensation: $70-$80/hour Per Diem Car Allowance
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Agent (Cx) to support an active, awarded data center project across Indiana and Michigan. This is an immediate contract opportunity for a commissioning professional with hands-on data center experience who can mobilize quickly and support commissioning activities in the field.
The project is already underway, and the selected candidate is expected to start within approximately two weeks. There is currently one immediate opening with the potential for an additional position as project needs expand.
Responsibilities
- Support commissioning activities for mission-critical data center systems and equipment
- Execute and document commissioning activities in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and commissioning plans
- Participate in equipment startup, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing, and turnover activities
- Review commissioning documentation, test procedures, drawings, specifications, and equipment submittals
- Identify, document, track, and assist with resolution of commissioning deficiencies and punch-list items
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, engineers, construction teams, and client representatives throughout the commissioning process
- Verify installed systems meet design intent, operational requirements, and project specifications
- Participate in field inspections, testing activities, commissioning meetings, and project reporting
- Maintain accurate commissioning documentation and communicate project status, issues, and technical findings to project stakeholders
- Support project schedules and commissioning milestones in a fast-paced mission-critical environment
Required Qualifications
- Proven data center commissioning (Cx) experience
- Experience supporting commissioning activities within mission-critical facilities
- Strong understanding of commissioning processes, testing procedures, and field documentation
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and field coordination skills
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, vendors, engineering teams, and client representatives
- Ability to mobilize quickly and begin work within approximately two weeks
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Indiana and Michigan
Preferred Experience
- Electrical and/or mechanical commissioning experience within data centers
- Experience with mission-critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure such as UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, HVAC, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, controls, and BMS systems
- Experience with functional performance testing and integrated systems testing
- Previous experience working on large-scale or hyperscale data center projects
Compensation & Project Details
- Hourly OT over 40
- Per diem provided
- Car allowance included
