What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector position at Resource Options, Inc.?
A Construction Inspector plays a vital role in supporting the integrity and quality of construction projects through hands-on materials testing and accurate data reporting. By applying foundational engineering principles, attention to safety, and a commitment to clear communication, the inspector ensures reliable results and contributes to the smooth operation and long-term success of both the field and laboratory teams.
Responsibilities:
- Performs construction and geotechnical related laboratory testing.
- Provides clear documentation of testing results.
- Communicate information to Project Managers and discusses accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.
- Ensure the proper organization and appearance of the laboratory area for which he/she is responsible, including keeping the area and equipment clean and uncluttered.
- Assist the Materials Testing Manager with overseeing calibration and maintenance of the laboratory equipment.
- Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Responsible for maintaining quality standards on all testing.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
- Ability to obtain certifications from OSHA, NICET, NETTCP, ICC and ACI within first year of employment is required
Physical Demands:
- Lifting to and over 50 lbs. in both a vertical and horizontal range of motion.
- Standing
- Lifting over 75 lbs.
- Climbing stairs
- Sedentary work
- Reading, typing and computer input
- Stooping, walking, bending, reaching, pulling and pushing
- Clarity of vision at both over 20 feet and under 20 inches
- Able to judge depth, have a good field of vision, and identify and distinguish colors.
