Job Description:
Our client, a high growth multi-site consumer brand with restaurants and other products is currently expanding in new markets, they are seeking a CFO with experience in restaurants, hospitality, fitness or another multi-site platform with 50 or more locations. The company is experiencing hyper growth and will be doubling over the next 12-18 months and is preparing for a future IPO.
Position Description:
The CFO will serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO and be a collaborative member of the executive management team. He/she will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial management, as broadly defined. He/she will set the strategic direction for the brand’s financial operations to support the company’s vision.
Responsibilities:
- Work in close coordination with the CEO, assess organizational performance against both the budget and the short and long term strategic plans
- Play a key role in establishing yearly business plans and objectives
- Manage expenses, working capital and capital expenditures
- Manage all top line expense, working capital and Capex forecasting
- Ensures that the company maximizes cash flow through improved operating performance, and prudent capital investments
- Manage banking relationships and debt investments
- Communicate financial results to investor group
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual Financial Statements – P&L, Cash Flow, and Balance Sheet
- Develop expertise in the business model and develop the appropriate metrics/KPI’s, reporting tools and dashboards needed to effectively manage the company
- Assess talents within existing organization to address the current challenges of the business.
- Partner with the CEO to lead the annual strategic planning sessions, drive the exploration of new business opportunities and growth initiatives, and periodically review progress against plans throughout the year.
- Build the internal capabilities to monitor, analyze and respond to the market and business environment across channels and product categories.
- Develop and implement consistent financial and operational processes and best practices to optimize business performance across all channels.
- Create strong financial reporting processes, budgeting, forecasting and statement procedures
- Create a best in class process for the accounting and control team to open and close the books in a timely fashion
- Serve as the champion of these strategic initiatives across all functional areas and be accountable for their implementation.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate’s experience should include success leading a finance team within a multi-site restaurant, hospitality or fitness company. A progressive financial career track that includes accounting, forecasting, business modeling, controls and financial management roles and experience as a CFO. Candidates, who have led or contributed significantly to the development of a business with a high-growth, are a plus. Additionally, desirable candidate backgrounds should include exposure to larger, best practice corporate environments and expanded operational responsibility beyond finance. Exposure to private equity and experience with an equity transaction along with past interaction with institutional debt investors would make for a highly viable candidate.
