Job Description :
Senior Cobol developer to support the Investment Book of Records development team. The candidate will develop enhancements and new functionality for our in-house suite of applications written in Cobol.
Responsibilities will include creation of technical specifications, architecting high-end solutions, hands-on development, creating test plans according to Client's published Development Process Framework and providing production support.
Qualifications :
- The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Sr.Cobol Developer.
- Experience with Fujitsu NetCobol or MicroFocus Cobol desired.
- Experience with relational databases required (Sybase a plus).
- MQ, Unix and Unix shell scripting a plus.
- Solid experience in full software development cycle, including application architecture, technical specs, analysis, software development, testing large-scale software applications, assisting SQA teams with UAT testing, production support.
- Experience in the financial industry with knowledge of trade flow and corporate actions a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and strong team collaboration skills.
- Good project management skills.
- Possesses the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience testing software designed for elaborate business scenarios.
- Aptitude for learning new things and flexibility to adapt and follow guidelines.
Must-have :

o The candidate will develop and support existing and new functionality for our in-house suite of applications written in Cobol. Responsibilities will include hands-on development, analysis, architect high-end solutions, creation and execution of test plans according to Client's published Development Process Framework. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to provide production support as necessary.
o Preferably working hours 9 : 00 am to 6 : 00 pm - Pacific Standard Time
o At least 4 days a week in the office
o 12 to 18 months
o On first day, developer can expect an orientation session, introduction to company policies, and task-specific training. Additional guidance will be provided by team members as part of our onboarding process.
o Will get involved in full software development cycle, including analysis, design, writing technical specs, software development, testing large-scale software applications, assisting SQA teams with UAT testing and production support.
