What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Site Director STEAM Camp (2025-2026) position at Resource Area for Teaching?

RAFT is seeking a Camp Assistant Site Director to work alongside our Program Leadership team and Camp Site Director to ensure smooth daily operations, uphold camp standards, and make a lasting impact on young minds. What You’ll Do
- Help implement camp guidelines, emergency procedures, and disciplinary actions. Assist the Camp Site Director with check-in/out, class activities, outdoor events, and the end-of-week showcase. Maintain accurate records of attendance, medical information, and pick-up lists.
- Provide timely, friendly communication to parents via email, phone, or in person. Support the Site Director with email updates, including invitations to the showcase.
- Partner with the Site Director to address facility concerns, coordinating with the IT coordinator and janitorial staff to keep operations and classrooms running smoothly.
- Complete at least 9 hours of onboarding, professional development, and staff meetings before camp. Take part in after-camp debriefs and assist with other coordinating tasks as assigned.
- Help the Site Director supervise and support camp staff, including overseeing camp opening or closing (typically afternoon shifts from 12:00–5:30 p.m., though schedules may vary by location).
- Track daily staffing needs and attendance, reporting concerns to the RAFT team.
- Step in to cover staff responsibilities when needed.

- Commitment to being on-site for 8 hours each day during camp.
- Ability to use (or learn) cloud-based program management tools.
- Flexible, adaptable, and proactive problem solver.
- Strong teamwork and task-execution skills.
- Must obtain TB Risk Assessment and fingerprint clearance (covered by RAFT).
- At least one year of experience in student program management.
- Experience in a supportive or supervisory role is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
