Nursing Home Activities Aide

We are a growing company looking for a compassionate enthusiast to join our Healthcare team as an activities aide!

An activities aide is responsible for helping with physical, educational, or social activities in a variety of settings. As an activities aide, your duties revolve around assisting residents or patients with use of equipment, and planning and monitoring their participation in various activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Continually motivates and encourages residents to attend and participate in the activities and programs
• Employee must be able to perform essential activities functions with or without a reasonable accommodation by the employer, without posing threat to self or others
• Set up and clean up the activity room when necessary
• Contributes to the activities program with fresh ideas and insight the director may be able to utilize
• Assist the facility Activities Director in maintaining a high-quality activities program that will satisfy the interest and needs of the residents
• Transport the patients from their rooms to the activity location
• Displays ability to maintain consistent and stable work performance during stressful situations and displays keen teamwork
• Punctuality and reliability in attendance in accordance with scheduling and daily activities
• Displays initiative to act independently by taking effective action before being directed by supervisor or forced by events
• Actively promotes and communicates facility's activity program to residents and families
• Promotes activities, entertainment, and religious services
• Interacts with all residents, families, visitors, employes and admin team in a mature, responsible, positive, and professional way
• Requires frequent bending, standing, stopping, stretching, and lifting
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability is required in English grammar in both reading and writing.
• Patient and compassionate
• Strong Interpersonal and Communication skill
• H.S diploma
