Position Overview
The Portfolio Administrator & Research Analyst supports the firm’s portfolio management and investment research functions. Working closely with the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Management Team, the successful candidate will assist with portfolio implementation, investment monitoring, and research analysis that supports portfolio decisions.
This role combines portfolio operations, trading support, and investment analysis, providing a comprehensive foundation in the investment management process.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Administration & Trading Support
- Support portfolio managers in establishing and maintaining client accounts on third-party trading and portfolio management platforms.
- Assist with portfolio rebalancing, cash management, and routine trading activities associated with client inflows, outflows, and model updates.
- Maintain and update model portfolio allocations, benchmarks, and targets across custodial and portfolio management systems.
- Monitor client portfolios for allocation drift and assist in implementing portfolio adjustments.
- Provide trade recommendations and analysis, subject to portfolio manager approval.
- Coordinate with Client Service and Investment Operations teams to ensure accurate implementation of portfolio changes.
- Assist the CIO in ensuring compliance with investment policies, regulatory standards, and trading procedures.
- Contribute to portfolio reporting and investment commentary for internal and client-facing materials.
· Develop proficiency with portfolio management, reporting, and trading systems used by the firm.
Investment Research & Analysis
- Monitor macro-economic trends, market developments, and key investment indicators affecting portfolio positioning.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring and analysis of existing portfolio holdings and investment strategies.
- Support investment due diligence for new investment managers, funds, and strategies.
- Assist in evaluating potential investment opportunities by analyzing risk characteristics, return potential, and portfolio fit.
- Conduct screening and comparative analysis across asset classes and investment vehicles.
- Monitor non-model securities held in client portfolios.
- Prepare research summaries and investment insights to support internal investment committee discussions.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in investment research, portfolio management support, financial analysis, or asset management.
- Experience working with a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), asset manager, family office, or institutional investment firm is preferable.
- Exposure to portfolio management systems, trading platforms, or investment research tools (such as FactSet) is highly beneficial and preferred.
Professional Development
- CFA Program candidate or strong interest in pursuing the CFA designation preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and portfolio construction principles.
- General familiarity with owning or analyzing individual stocks and investment strategies is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong PowerPoint presentation skills.
