Role Summary:The Database Administration Project Manager will lead, design, and oversee multiple projects related to the organization's database infrastructure, including upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and security enhancements. This role ensures database projects deliver high availability, robust security, and optimal performance across all supported systems.Key Responsibilities:Database Project Management: Plan, direct, design, supervise, and monitor multiple Database Administration (DBA) projects effectively, such as database consolidation, version upgrades (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle), cloud migrations (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS), and disaster recovery implementation.Team Leadership & Technical Direction: Provide administrative and technical direction to DBA and support personnel, including assigning tasks related to patch management, backup verification, performance monitoring, and overseeing the delivery of all database-related infrastructure changes.Budget Management & Resource Allocation: Manage projects while adhering strictly to budget constraints, ensuring cost-effective licensing, and optimizing database resource utilization (e.g., CPU, storage).Quality Assurance & Performance Optimization: Ensure high-quality deliverables that meet established database standards, focusing on data integrity, transactional consistency, high availability, and performance tuning. Confirm all changes meet customer satisfaction standards and operational requirements.Client & Systems Communication: Collaborate with application developers, systems engineers, and government personnel. Negotiate standards for data modeling, security configuration, and integration points, and establish clear expectations for database uptime and project milestones.Technical Knowledge: Possess deep familiarity with database management systems (DBMS) (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL), database architecture, clustering, replication technologies, and scripting for automation.Team Collaboration: Work effectively with Systems Analysts, Infrastructure Engineers, and application development teams to facilitate database design reviews, production deployments, and root cause analysis of performance issues.Problem-Solving & Risk Management: Proactively address and mitigate challenges related to data security risks, performance bottlenecks, or capacity planning to ensure the successful and stable operation of all managed database environments.General Requirements (Ethical/Conduct):Personnel are expected to uphold integrity, responsibility, and professionalism during work.Support the implementation of, and encourage compliance with, appropriate standards and procedures for the effective governance and management of information systems and technology, including audit, control, data security, and risk management.Perform their duties with objectivity, due diligence, and professional care, in accordance with professional standards.Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of sensitive data obtained during their activities, unless disclosure is required by law. Such information shall not be used for personal benefit or released to inappropriate parties.Maintain competency in their respective fields and agree to undertake only those activities they can reasonably expect to complete with the necessary skills, knowledge, and competence.Inform appropriate parties of the results of work performed, including the disclosure of all significant facts known to them that, if not disclosed, may distort the reporting of the results.Qualifications:Experience: 4–6 years of relevant program or project management experience, specifically leading complex database administration and infrastructure projects.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to manage technical team dependencies and communicate complex architecture decisions to non-technical stakeholders.Attributes: Highly detail and task-oriented, with a strong focus on data governance and operational stability.Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance level.EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYResolveSoft, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
