We are looking for a data center operations specialist to join our IT team and support our data center infrastructure. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems and networks in our data centers, as well as ensuring their security and reliability. The Data Center Operations Specialist is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center.

As a data center operations specialist, you will:

  • Monitor the physical security and general housekeeping of the data center and network operations center.
  • Install or de-install computer equipment, peripherals, cabling and associated components as needed.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and capacity of our data centers
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as security, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and upgrades of the facility to meet industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality services and products.
  • Report on data center operations metrics, such as uptime, power consumption, and costs.
  • Maintain data centers and environmental facilities including but not limited to UPS, backup generator power, fire prevention systems, and HVAC.
  • Manage space allocation and layout planning for optimal equipment placement and airflow.
  • Manage office migrations as it pertains to IT operations.

Data Center Operations Specialist Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in data center operations.
  • Must have deep understanding and experience with Data Center UPS, backup generator power, HVAC, fire prevention systems, mechanical systems, and other components in the daily operations and maintenance of a data center.
  • Strong knowledge of data center technologies, such as servers, storage, networks, security, and backup systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
