The Senior Manager, Human Resources is a hands-on HR leader and business partner responsible for executing day-to-day people operations while supporting growth, performance, and value-creation objectives in a private equity–backed, fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role partners closely with executive leadership and operating managers to deliver practical HR solutions, manage workforce risk, and ensure scalable, disciplined HR operations across U.S. and international subsidiary locations.

This role requires an operator mindset, a leader who can translate business priorities into action, bring structure to ambiguity, and drive results through strong execution. Hands-on UKG experience is highly preferred.


Responsibilities

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5–12 years of progressive HR experience, including senior-level leadership responsibility.
  • Proven experience operating in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of employee relations, compensation, benefits, and employment law.
  • Experience supporting multi-location and/or international operations.

Highly Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) HRIS platforms.
  • Experience in a private equity–backed, sponsor-owned, or transaction-driven organization.
  • Experience working with or supporting scientific, life sciences, or healthcare organizations.
  • Master’s degree and/or HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
  • Experience building or scaling career frameworks, performance programs, or succession planning in growth environments.


Skills, Education & Qualifications

Business Partnership & Execution

  • Partner closely with the CEO, CFO, other subsidiary HR, and senior leaders on workforce decisions tied to growth, productivity, compensation, and organizational structure.
  • Act as a practical HR advisor to managers, providing real-time guidance that balances employee needs with business and financial priorities.
  • Support leadership in navigating change, scaling operations, and managing performance expectations in a PE-backed environment.

HR Operations & Day-to-Day Leadership

  • Own and execute core HR operations including employee relations, compensation administration, benefits oversight, payroll coordination, and policy enforcement.
  • Ensure HR processes are disciplined, scalable, and responsive to business demands.
  • Drive operational rigor, accountability, and follow-through across all HR activities.

Career Architecture, Performance & Succession Planning

  • Design and implement clear career ladders and role frameworks that define expectations, progression paths, and development criteria across key functions.
  • Partner with leadership to embed career frameworks into performance management, compensation, and talent decisions.
  • Lead succession planning execution for critical and mid-level leadership roles, including identification of key talent, readiness assessments, and development actions.
  • Translate succession plans into actionable development and retention strategies aligned with business continuity and growth objectives.

Assist in Global & Subsidiary HR Oversight

  • Provide functional oversight and hands-on support to HR resources supporting domestic and international subsidiaries when required by the management.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies, performance standards, career frameworks, and reporting across entities.
  • Serve as the escalation point for HR matters within the group arising from subsidiary locations, ensuring timely and business-aligned resolution.

Talent & Performance Management

  • Drive performance management execution, including goal setting, performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and manager coaching.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on efficient hiring strategies for leadership and business-critical roles.
  • Reinforce a performance-driven culture aligned with PE ownership expectations.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Manage complex employee relations matters, investigations, and performance issues with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as applicable international regulations.
  • Partner with Legal and Finance on employment risk, audits, diligence requests, and documentation needs.

HR Systems, Data & UKG Leadership

  • Serve as functional owner of HR systems, with hands-on leadership and optimization of UKG.
  • Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and effective use of HRIS tools to support decision-making.
  • Deliver workforce metrics and insights that support executive reporting, forecasting, and planning.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop HR team members in a lean, execution-focused environment.
  • Set clear priorities, timelines, and accountability aligned with business objectives.
  • Foster a pragmatic, service-oriented HR culture focused on impact and results.
