Senior Platform Engineer

As a Software Engineer, you must possess world class technical skills and a strong sense of empathy for your fellow developers.  You will work closely with other talented engineers, architects and stakeholders to architect, implement, and deliver on our roadmap. 

Responsibilities & Impact

• Bring a developer-first mindset, deeply understanding and improving the day-to-day experience of engineers.
• Own end-to-end product development - from idea to production, delivering real value to customers.
• Lead the evolution of our platform towards a cloud-native, Kubernetes-first architecture.
• Drive and scale our inner source / open-source culture, strengthening the developer community at ResMed.
• Build and operate reliable, observable systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Contribute to a 24/7 follow-the-sun on-call rotation, supporting production systems.
• Define and execute product roadmaps, platform strategy, and migration plans.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture, tools, and development practices.
• Collaborate across engineering, security, and compliance teams to align on shared goals and standards.
• Clearly communicate ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong hands-on experience building and operating Kubernetes-based platforms in FedRAMP regulated or similar environments, including multi-tenancy, cluster security, workload isolation, audit processes, documentation, and evidence collection.
• Experience building, maintaining, and securing base container images, including image hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, and ensuring compliance with FedRAMP or similar standards
• Proven experience developing and maintaining applications across multiple languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, TypeScript, React).
• Deep understanding of Git-based workflows including branching strategies, pull requests, and automated quality gates.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, including testing practices and code quality.
• Experience delivering documentation alongside code (e.g., Markdown, docs-as-code).
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and operating developer platforms, including CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (or similar), artifact management with JFrog Artifactory (or equivalent) and secure software development practices
• Familiarity with observability tools (Datadog, Splunk, ELK, etc.).
• Experience with troubleshooting, incident management and on-call practices in production environments.
• Exposure to GenAI and applying AI capabilities within developer platforms or systems.
