Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented OD-ID Grinder to join our manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will operate and set up OD (outer diameter) and ID (inner diameter) grinding machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality parts through meticulous grinding processes, utilizing manual machinery and measurement tools. Duties
- Operate, set up, and maintain OD and ID grinding machines with precision to produce components within specified tolerances.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions.
- Perform routine inspections of tooling, fixtures, and machine components; troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling power tools, hand tools, and other manufacturing tools.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, quality checks, and production logs to ensure traceability and compliance.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in machining.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T standards for precise manufacturing.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, selection, and maintenance for grinding machines; experience with CNC lathe and milling machines is advantageous.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings; understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
