What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strength Coach position at REsistance Spin & Strength?
REsistance is searching for elite coaches to lead, instruct, and motivate. Our 45-minute bootcamp-style class is a full-body workout designed in house following a weekly structure.
Requirements:
- Customer-Service Skills: REsistance coaches have a unique/fun energy and establish/maintain relationships with clients on behalf of Resistance.
- Motivational Skills: To keep clients coming back, REsistance coaches must keep their clients engaged throughout the workout.
- Physical Fitness: REsistance coaches must be physically fit, as their job requires a considerable amount of exercise. Coaches need to participate in classes and demonstrate exercises, as necessary.
- Problem-Solving Skills: REsistance coaches must provide regressions and progressions for clients with differing abilities.
- Communication Skills: REsistance coaches must be able to communicate and deliver exercise cues/movements to clients in a professional, clear, and motivating manner.
- Listening Skills: REsistance coaches must be able to "read the room.”
- Time Management: REsistance coaches must be proficient in delivering a multi-dimensional workout, while delegating their attention to all clients. Classes must always start and end on time.
- Must be able to pick up at least 2 or more regularly scheduled classes per week.
- If hired, be willing to instruct strength-based group fitness only at REsistance within Indian River County.
- Must be active on Instagram and/or Facebook.
- Coaches must follow the REsistance schedule and formats.
- Must have loads of personality and energy, love for music and be a team player.
- Must be comfortable building relationships in the community and in the studio with existing and new members.
- When instructing, must wear logo’d apparel.
- Should be open to feedback and want to continue to learn.
- Attend any and all trainings or meetings hosted at REsistance.
- Must be able and willing to move bikes or equipment and set up for events
- Must be willing to clean studios, bathrooms, and lobby
- Must be able to lift 50 -75lbs
- Must have reliable transportation to and from REsistance
- Must be able and willing to work Mornings, Evenings, Weekends and Holidays
Essential Functions:
- Delivering the REsistance experience by executing pre-programmed and pre-designed workouts including circuits, warm up and cool down drills, and “bonus pushes.”
- Connecting your energy and delivery with custom thought out playlists using Apple Music throughout the class.
- Monitoring client execution of exercises and correcting techniques to minimize injury and maximize results. SAFETY IS #1.
- Willing to work with owner to hone and improve class skills if needed.
- Arrive 30 minutes early to class to greet class participants and to assist with acclimation and setup for first time visitors.
- Must greet and welcome new members to class making sure their ready.
- Post, market and manage personal Instagram and Facebook pages to develop a following.
- Actively comment, like and share on studio social platforms weekly.
- Adhere to the REsistance training method, brand and safety guidelines as outlined in the Coach Training Manual.
- Actively represent REsistance at studio-organized events that are held periodically both within and outside the studio.
- Develop a relationship with current and prospective members to build classes.
Qualifications:
- Personal Training and/or Group Fitness Certification required; NASM, ACE, ISSA, AFFA
- Any Group Fitness Instruction preferred but not necessary
- Must be able to pass an audition.
- CPR/AED Certified (If you need to be certified, please register through https://www.floridaheartcpr.com/ located at Vero Beach Airport property.)
Compensation:
· $25-$33 based on experience/ class.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $33.00 per hour
