OVERVIEW:
Reporting to Manager, Engineering and Design, the Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for being a technical and project lead on the design and execution of overhead transmission and distribution line projects. This role combines technical leadership and project management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with utility standards and regulatory requirements. The Senior Project Engineer will serve as a primary technical resource for Sales Engineers, Project Engineers, and/or Sales Managers, and ensure high-quality deliverables that support safe and reliable energy delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 8 Years of experience in T&D (Transmission and Distribution) line design.
- Strong knowledge of T&D design standards (NESC, RUS, IEEE, ASCE, state and utility-specific standards; CSA is a plus).
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related design tools (experience with SPIDA, PoleForeman, O-Calc a plus) required.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
- Experience with large-scale capital programs and asset lifecycle management preferred (PMP Certification or equivalent project training a bonus).
- Experience working within a utility and/or EPC preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to solve problems, propose conceptual solutions, and characterize/quantify potential risks effectively and creatively.
- Proven communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to interface with key customer technical contacts to successfully complete project analysis asks and answer customer inquiries on design and field applications.
