We are seeking a creative, energetic, and innovative Donor Engagement Manager to join our team and help advance our mission by building and strengthening philanthropic partnerships that sustain our vision of growth after challenges and hope.
Position Summary
The Donor Engagement Manager leads and manages Resilient Retreat’s annual giving strategies, donor relations, and fundraising initiatives. This role is responsible for designing and implementing strategies to grow individual, corporate, and foundation giving while strengthening relationships with donors, volunteers, and collaborators. Working closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, Director of Leadership Giving, and the Program Team, this position also manages a small portfolio of major gift donors and plays a key role in stewarding the organization’s culture of philanthropy.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Campaigns
- Plan, implement, and evaluate annual giving campaigns.
- Lead Resilient Retreat’s Giving Challenge campaign (bi-annually) and other special giving initiatives.
- Manage donor cultivation and stewardship efforts to expand the donor base and deepen engagement. Fundraising Events & Community Engagement
• Partner with staff, committee volunteers, and vendors to successfully execute three signature fundraising events annually.
• Collaborate with committees and volunteers to maximize event sponsorships, attendance, and donor engagement.
• Represent Resilient Retreat at community events and networking opportunities.
• Manage deadlines & budget while adhering to the policies & procedures of Resilient Retreat.
Donor & Volunteer Relations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, foundations, and individual donors. • Engage and steward board members, volunteers, and committee members in fundraising efforts.
• Support the CEO and Director of Leadership Giving in donor strategy and solicitation activities.
Major Gifts
• Manage and grow a small portfolio of individual major gift prospects and donors.
• Partner with the Director of Leadership Giving to ensure a coordinated approach to stewardship and cultivation. Development Operations
• Track and evaluate fundraising progress, donor metrics, and campaign outcomes.
• Ensure timely acknowledgment and recognition of gifts in alignment with donor stewardship best practices.
• Spearhead foundation grants tracking and reporting. Contribute to grant strategy and take the lead on grant writing with support from CEO, Program and Development teams.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with proven success in donor relations, annual giving, and event management.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and community stakeholders.
• Experience managing and supporting special events, volunteers, and committees.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Collaborative, creative, and entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to think creatively.
• Proficiency with donor databases (e.g., Bloomerang, Raiser’s Edge, or similar CRM) as well as Microsoft 365, Canva and Constant Contact preferred.

• The ability to withstand physical and emotional stress.
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary range of $60,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience & skills.

Following one year of full-time work, Resilient Retreat will match employee retirement contributions up to 5%.
