Litigation Attorney - Asbestos Insurance Coverage

Location: Garden City, NY

Salary: $180,000 - $220,000/year

This role offers the opportunity to manage high-exposure portfolios, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and play a key role in resolving complex coverage disputes.

• Lead asbestos insurance coverage matters from initial analysis through litigation and resolution.


• Perform detailed coverage analysis, including policy interpretation and long-tail exposure issues.


• Manage complex asbestos litigation portfolios involving significant exposure.


• Develop and execute litigation, settlement, and resolution strategies.


• Direct and oversee outside counsel, including legal strategy and budget management.


• Collaborate with claims, reinsurance, finance, and other internal stakeholders.


• Provide guidance and recommendations regarding coverage positions and risk exposure.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active U.S. bar admission.


• 5 years of direct asbestos insurance coverage and/or asbestos defense litigation experience.


• Recent, hands-on ownership of asbestos-related matters.


• Strong experience handling complex, high-exposure claims and litigation.


• Demonstrated expertise in asbestos coverage analysis and policy interpretation.


• Ability to clearly articulate asbestos experience and responsibilities throughout prior roles.


• Strong analytical, negotiation, and litigation management skills.
