What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance defense litigation - Onsite position at Resiliency LLC?
What we're looking for:
We need a seasoned insurance defense litigator with 6-10 years of experience who can step into a partner-level role and immediately manage a full caseload across labor law, construction litigation, premises liability, motor vehicle, property damage, and general liability matters. You should be comfortable operating with high autonomy in a satellite office environment and have a track record of independently handling cases from pleadings through trial. Bonus points if you're an independent practitioner looking to join a firm with built-in infrastructure, support staff, and a full pipeline of work.
What you'll do:
- Take ownership of a full litigation caseload covering insurance defense matters across the NYC metro area, including labor law, construction, premises liability, motor vehicle, property damage, and general liability claims
- Manage all phases of litigation independently — pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and trials — with no ramp period expected
- Serve as the senior attorney on the ground at the Uniondale (Long Island) satellite office, providing day-to-day leadership, supervision, and mentorship to two junior associates and one support staff member
- Appear regularly in state and local courts throughout the NYC metropolitan area and surrounding regions on behalf of insurance carrier clients
- Collaborate remotely with firm leadership in Syracuse while maintaining significant autonomy over how the Uniondale office operates and grows
- Contribute to the firm's trial-focused culture — Client tries cases monthly and weekly, and this role is no exception
