What You Will Be Doing
- Lead and manage the Geotechnical Engineering function, acting as a key technical authority
- Oversee projects from proposal stage through final geotechnical report delivery
- Perform and review:
- Subsurface investigations
- Soil analysis and interpretation
- Geotechnical engineering reports
- Ensure technical accuracy, quality control, and compliance across all geotechnical deliverables
- Manage and mentor field technicians and junior engineers
- Conduct site visits and field reviews (~25% field work)
- Collaborate with:
- Contractors
- Architects
- Engineers
- Government and regulatory agencies
- Support business development efforts, including proposals and client engagement
- Proactively manage client expectations, issues, and project risks
- Contribute to continuous improvement of geotechnical practices and processes
Experience You Will Need
- Strong background in Geotechnical Engineering (non-negotiable)
- Proven experience in:
- Soil analysis & subsurface investigations
- Geotechnical report writing
- Foundation recommendations and site evaluations
- Experience managing or leading projects and/or teams
- Exposure to DOT, federal, commercial, and residential projects
- Background in one of the following:
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Professional Geology
- Geophysics
- Experience working in engineering consulting or testing/inspection firms
Must-Have:
- Geotechnical engineering expertise
- Soil analysis & interpretation
- Strong report writing skills (geotechnical reports)
- Project leadership / team supervision
- Client-facing communication
- Experience with subsurface investigations
- Problem-solving in geotechnical environments
Certifications (Critical):
