Responsibilities
- Participate in designing assays that assess identity, purity, and potency for cell therapy products.
- Independently plan, organize and execute lab activities.
- Perform analysis of experimental data, compile results and present to the team.
- Write and revise protocols for equipment, general laboratory practices, and analytical methods.
- Troubleshoot technical issues including planning and implementing resolutions.
- Execute assays in accordance with established protocols and SOPs.
- Maintain accurate and timely experimental records.
- Lead technology transfer, assay qualification and validation activities.
- Maintain technical proficiency and seek new knowledge to assess novel methods as needed.
- Responsible for monitoring inventory of supplies and ordering supplies as needed and management of laboratory upkeep and organization.
- Observe applicable safety and security procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of AD equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards for analytical testing of cell therapy products.
- Train junior team members and demonstrate aptitude for managing direct reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- 1-2 yr.’s of industry related experience required, preferred in biotech manufacturing.
- Demonstrate proficiency in multiple assay areas.
- Strong hands-on experience with the following techniques is highly preferred:
- Mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques.
- Nucleic acid extraction and quantitation.
- PCR, qPCR, or ddPCR assays to quantify nucleic acid abundance.
- Flow cytometry sample preparation, data acquisition, and analysis.
- ELISA assays to quantify protein abundance.
- Handling of viral vectors, in particular retroviral and lentiviral vectors.
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Able to work semi-independently with minimal supervision.
