Medical Receptionist

We are looking for a professional, organized, and compassionate Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our patients. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, managing patient communications, and supporting our medical staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly, approachable demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Manage patient scheduling, including appointment confirmations and rescheduling.
• Maintain accurate patient records both electronic and paper and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Verify and update patient insurance and contact information.
• Handle incoming calls, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary.
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing correspondence.
• Maintain reception area: clean, organized, professional appearance
• Assist with medical collections as needed.
• Utilize EHR systems such as Simple Practice, DocVilla, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for patient data management.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Medical Receptionist, Medical Assistant or in a similar role within a medical office or clinic setting is a plus.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
• Familiarity with medical terminology, health information management, and insurance processes.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to type efficiently (40 key typing).
• Excellent communication skills-- both verbal and written.
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to enhance patient interactions.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing processes.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish (a plus, not required)

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
