Caregiver

JOB TITLE: Caregiver

Exemption Status: Non-exempt

Minimum Qualifications:

· Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.

· Education: Must be willing to complete the training under DHS 83.

Responsibility and Authority: To help residents achieve and/or maintain their independence in a safe and healthy manner both in and outside of the home by assisting in and/or providing cooking, cleaning, recreational, and personal care services.

Essential Duties:

· Implement Individual Service Plan with and/or for resident.

· Assist residents to perform personal care or perform personal care, as needed.

· Assist residents to perform daily living activities and monitor.

· Be aware of and comply with CBRF Rules, Resident Rights, and regulations.

· Monitor safety of home and grounds during shift and take corrective action.

· Complete required documentation and record keeping and respect confidentiality standards

· Provide guidance in physical and social behaviors in the home.

· Promote acceptable standards of hygiene and encourage nutritional dietary habits

· Shop for groceries and/or plan menus as directed

· Cook meals and maintain kitchen

· Dust, vacuum, clean bathrooms, etc.

· Wash, iron, and/or fold resident clothing and bedding

· Follow organization policies and procedures and encourage resident compliance.

· Attend required staff meetings or in-service meetings

· Participate in required amount and type of staff development activity.

Nonessential Duties:

· Other duties as assigned

Required Physical Activities:

· Ability to balance, crouch, bend, stoop, walk, kneel, twist, stand, and sit

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

· Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds, stretch, and climb

· Be free of communicable diseases

· Ability to operate house cleaning and kitchen equipment

· Intellectual and emotional maturity to assess resident’s needs and handle emergency situations.

· Able to work with personas with varying disabilities and complications of aging

· Cooking, cleaning, and homemaking skills.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
