Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world's longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic and DJ ecosystem. The site's audience of over 6 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, editorial, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 18 years.
Purpose Of The Role
RA is looking for someone with a passion for electronic music culture and editorial content to help us better represent local communities within our Content team while also working closely with our International department. As a Local Content Creator, you will be responsible for creating original short-form content and covering stories within North America (USA, Canada, & Mexico) for RA’s social channels, writing local news and helping us build our community-focused content to provide more on-the-ground, local coverage of community scenes. You will also help us create and implement new content offerings for our city pages, as well as represent RA locally during key partnership moments.

Purpose Of The Role

Key Responsibilities
- 2 x Partner Content Pieces Per Month in PC formats for various digital platforms, including social media, editorial and Reels/TikTok (LA, SF, San Diego)
- 2x Local News Stories per Week (with a focus on Key cities strategy - LA, SF, Detroit, Toronto, Mexico City, but not limited to) (36 per quarter)
- Grow RA’s audience and profile in key cities in North America by shaping and delivering new local content ideas.
- Create original and compelling short-form content for various digital platforms, including social media, editorial and Reels/TikTok.
- Conduct research and stay up to date on local industry trends to inform content creation.
- Maintain the in-house content calendar to ensure a consistent flow of North American content is covered and created.
- Collaborate with the Content team to align content with our brand guidelines and objectives.
- Work with your community on local content, such as local news, guides and recommendations.
- Represent RA at events, partnerships and a liaison for our community of artists, partners and platforms.
- Two years of experience in content creation for social media, preferably in a freelance capacity.
- Expert social-first filmmaker, capable of pitching, editing and delivering multimedia content under time pressure.
- Demonstrable social media experience on key platforms, such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Proven ability to write compelling content across different digital platforms.
- Experience in video (Adobe Premiere Pro/CapCut.) and photo editing.
- Experience with script writing, voiceover narration and presenting on camera.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant and popular electronic music artists, labels, venues, promoters and events.
- Experience working across time zones preferable.
