Private Family | Rockland County, NY | Full-Time, Weekdays | $75,000 per year

We're a busy working family with three school-age kids, ages 7, 10 and 11, looking for a reliable, organized Household Manager to keep our home and our weekdays running smoothly. Our kids are independent and don't need traditional childcare. What they need is a steady, warm adult who keeps them on track, gets them where they need to be, and makes sure everyone is fed. What we need is someone who takes ownership of the household so it simply works.

THE ROLE

This is a full-time, weekday role, roughly 11:00am to 7:30pm. Late mornings are for running the house: laundry, housekeeping, food shopping and errands. Afternoons and evenings are for the kids: school pickup, driving to lessons and sports, homework, dinner and evening routines. A separate cleaning service handles deep cleaning a few times a month.

The right person is proactive. You notice when we're low on groceries, when a permission slip is due or when the schedule changed, and you handle it without being asked.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Kids & Routines

— Guide the kids through homework, reading and after-school responsibilities

— Keep evening routines on track, including showers and getting ready for the next day

— Be a consistent, positive presence who holds expectations kindly and firmly

Driving & Logistics

— Drive the kids to and from school activities, lessons and sports

— Keep track of a busy family calendar and flag conflicts before they happen

Meals

— Prepare dinner for the family on weekdays

— Pack lunches for the next school day

— Plan meals and keep the kitchen stocked

Home

— Do the family's laundry: wash, fold and put away

— Keep the house tidy and organized day to day

Errands & Household Management

— Do the food shopping and run household errands

— Coordinate with the cleaning service and other occasional vendors as needed

— Take ownership of the small details that keep a household running

WHO YOU ARE

— 5 years of experience as a household manager, family assistant, nanny or in a similar role with school-age children

— Dependable and punctual. Our weekdays run on you being here on time, every day

— Organized and proactive; comfortable managing many moving parts at once

— A confident home cook who can prepare simple, healthy family meals

— Warm with kids but comfortable setting expectations and following through

— A clear communicator who keeps parents in the loop by text

— Discreet and trustworthy in a private home

REQUIREMENTS

— Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

— Comfortable driving children regularly in all seasons

— Professional references from previous families or employers

STRONGLY ENCOURAGED

— Experience with kids in the 7-12 age range

— CPR and First Aid certification

— Lives within a reasonable commute of Rockland County

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

— Monday through Friday, approximately 11am to 7pm

— $75,000 per year

— Long-term position for the right person

PHYSICAL & WORK REQUIREMENTS

This role is active. You'll be on your feet, carrying groceries and laundry, and in and out of the car throughout the day. You should be able to lift up to 25 lbs and be comfortable around a busy household.
