Maintenance Technician – Marriott Hotel

About the Position

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on, and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our hotel team.

Our Maintenance Technician plays an important role in keeping our hotel looking great, operating safely, and providing the experience our guests expect. From preventive maintenance and guestroom repairs to pool and spa care, this position helps ensure our guests and team members have a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained hotel.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, notices the little things, and doesn't wait to be asked when they see something that needs attention.

What You'll Do

As our Maintenance Technician, you will:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Respond promptly to guestroom maintenance requests and resolve issues with minimal disruption to the guest.
• Perform preventive maintenance on guestrooms, equipment, and hotel systems.
• Troubleshoot and complete basic repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, appliances, fixtures, furniture, and other hotel equipment.
• Complete minor drywall repair, painting, caulking, and general carpentry as needed.
• Inspect guestrooms and public areas to identify maintenance concerns before they become larger problems.
• Maintain exterior areas of the property, including lighting, sidewalks, parking areas, landscaping-related items, and overall building appearance.
• Complete work orders accurately and communicate the status of repairs to hotel leadership and other departments.
• Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, storage areas, and inventory in a clean and organized manner.
• Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing maintenance supplies.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly handle chemicals, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with emergency situations and urgent maintenance needs when necessary.
• Work closely with the Front Desk, Housekeeping, and hotel leadership to minimize guest impact when repairs are needed.
• Help ensure the property meets Marriott brand standards and hotel expectations.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support hotel operations.

Pool & Spa Care

The Maintenance Technician will also assist with the daily care, cleanliness, safety, and operation of the hotel's pool and spa facilities, including:

• Perform required daily pool and spa inspections.
• Test and document pool and spa water chemistry according to hotel procedures and applicable health and safety requirements.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate sanitizer, pH, alkalinity, and other required chemical levels.
• Safely handle, store, and administer pool chemicals according to manufacturer instructions and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate pool and spa chemical logs and inspection records.
• Clean pool and spa surfaces and surrounding areas as needed.
• Skim debris and inspect baskets, filters, pumps, drains, and other pool equipment.
• Monitor water temperature, circulation, filtration, and overall water clarity.
• Backwash, clean, or maintain filters and related equipment as required.
• Identify leaks, equipment malfunctions, unusual water conditions, or other concerns and address or report them promptly.
• Ensure pool equipment, gates, safety equipment, signage, lighting, and surrounding areas are maintained appropriately.
• Help ensure the pool and spa areas remain clean, safe, attractive, and guest-ready.
• Follow all applicable hotel policies and local health and safety requirements related to pool and spa operation.
• Immediately communicate any condition that could impact guest safety and take appropriate action according to hotel procedures.

Previous experience in hotel maintenance, pool maintenance, apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, or a related field is preferred.

Experience in a Marriott-branded hotel is a plus but is not required.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity and may include:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and working from ladders.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment and supplies.
• Working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Safely lifting up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
• Working around mechanical equipment, water, chemicals, and maintenance tools while following required safety procedures.

Schedule

This position requires flexibility based on hotel needs. Weekend and holiday availability will be required, as well as occasional availability for urgent maintenance situations.
