Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Chief Engineer at our Residence Inn near Universal Orlando, located in Orlando, FL. The Chief Engineer will oversee the operations and maintenance of the hotel's engineering and maintenance departments. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing and training the maintenance team, conducting scheduled inspections, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and addressing maintenance requests to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for guests. The role also involves developing and managing the maintenance budget and vendor relationships, as well as identifying and implementing energy-efficient solutions to improve the hotel’s operations.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in building system maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Knowledge of safety regulations, preventive maintenance best practices, and environmental standards
- Experience in team leadership, staff training, and managing maintenance personnel
- Strong budgeting, vendor management, and planning abilities
- Problem-solving skills with expertise in inspecting, diagnosing, and addressing operational issues
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is preferred
- Relevant certifications such as CPO (Certified Pool Operator) or EPA Certification are advantageous
