The Residence Inn by Marriott Myrtle Beach Oceanfront is currently hiring for part-time Pool Attendants. The persons hired for these positions will need flexibility to work 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm; weekday and weekend availability is required.

Position Summary: Pool attendants are responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of pool guests, as well as handing out towels and ensuring that guests adhere to all safety rules. Pool attendants are also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the area surrounding the pool, gathering towels, greeting guests, and answering any questions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests
  • Handout towels to registered guests according to company standards
  • Issue registered guests day lockers and record rentals according to company standards
  • Pick up after guests depart, remove used towels, trash, and return all equipment to staging areas.
  • Obtain, fold, and stack towels according to company procedures. Drop and pick up towels from laundry.
  • Ensure neat and clean chairs, pool deck and grounds
  • Monitor inventory of all pool tools and maintain adequacy in same and manage drop and pick up of towels from laundry.
  • Enforce all pool rules such as smoking, glassware and any other pool violations. Notify Supervisor when necessary.
  • Monitor the pool area and immediately report potential hazards or unsafe conditions to Manager on Duty
  • Turn in lost and found items immediately to the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 year of experience in hospitality industry in similar position is preferred.
  • You must have a positive, outgoing personality, and a professional image
  • Passion for hospitality and willingness to work as part of an effective team is required
  • Communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to stand for longs periods of time
  • Must be available to work weekends

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is required to work outside and is subject to all types of weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, and is required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, and walk for long periods of time. The employee will be required to reach, with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The position occasionally requires the employee to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. The employee will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and work a flexible schedule including holidays, and weekends. Must be able to move continuously during work hours and to lift up to 50 pounds.
