Duties
- Maintain a high degree of cleanliness for all guest rooms as measured through our guest satisfaction surveys.
- Respond quickly to all guest requests in a caring, friendly and professional manner.
- Become knowledgeable in our property management system to change room statuses as necessary.
- Inspect all guest rooms to ensure they are cleaned per our established cleanliness guidelines and hold our housekeepers accountable to these guidelines.
- Responsible for the ordering needs of the housekeeping department within the budgeted guidelines.
- Assisting in the management of the departmental budget.
- Conduct & prepare monthly inventories of housekeeping supplies, linen, & equipment.
- Develop, implement and maintain programs for the deep cleaning of guest rooms & coordinate deep cleans with engineering for preventative maintenance.
- Manage the lost and found, and ensure to include records, guest inquires, etc.
- Oversee and supervise the Laundry Attendants to include purchasing of laundry chemicals, staffing, and the usage of laundry machinery.
- Daily scheduling of housekeeping & laundry staff to meet factors including occupancy and business demands.
- Responsible for department’s payroll by verifying employee clock-in and clock-out punches.
- Daily inspections of guest rooms, storage closets, laundry areas, etc.
- Responsible for Housekeeping Department associate performance evaluations.
- Coordinate with Engineering to implement the maintenance and repair of guest rooms.
- Work with and arrange work for outside contractors as necessary.
- Assisting in the management of the departmental budget.
- Open and close the Housekeeping department daily.
- Answer guest complaints & resolve problems to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Attend mandatory meeting and hotel functions.
- Direct departmental meetings as necessary.

- Ensure to follow through on all issues and discrepancies as pertaining to Housekeeping.
- Responsible for maintaining a monthly checkbook of expenditures.
- Ensure all employee trainings and certifications are up to date.
- Knowledgeable of all Material Safety Data Sheet materials.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
- Report any and all wear and tear of furniture and/or equipment, as well as and safety concerns in your work area, to the General Manager.
- Comply with all company standards and policies, as established in the employee handbook.
- Other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles with a strong background in janitorial or industrial cleaning.
- Demonstrated expertise in housekeeper management, including supervising teams and maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Extensive knowledge of cleaning techniques such as floor care (carpet cleaning, polishing), sanitation procedures, and equipment operation.
- Prior experience working within the hospitality industry is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to lead teams effectively and foster a positive work atmosphere.
