- Integrate into military training scenarios using real military weapons, equipment, and vehicles as directed by Team Leaders, the Senior OPFOR Lead, and on-site military personnel
- Portray diverse roles including hostile forces, ambushers, snipers, friendly forces, police, terrorists, foreigners, merchants, rioters, protestors, laborers, third-country nationals, severely injured personnel, displaced persons, refugees, and dignitaries
- Provide realistic threat capabilities and tactics as directed by Desert Defender training and Intel sections, in accordance with Exercise Rules of Engagement (EXROE)
- Wear culturally appropriate clothing representative of the area of operations (e.g., Iraq, Africa, or emergent threat locations) during all exercise scenarios
- Wear military, police, civil defense, or detainee uniforms as required by specific training scenarios
- Ensure all weapons and attachments are cleaned and returned upon completion of duty
- Accompany certified military members to pick up ammunition (no handling of LIVE ammunition)
- Use only equipment and training aids provided by Desert Defender personnel; receive equipment before each event and return it at the end of the training day
- Operate Government-owned or rented vehicles (HMMWVs, pickup trucks, vans, stake-bed/light duty trucks) as required by scenario role
- Must meet arming and use of force standards per AFI 31-117 and comply with Gun Control Act of 1968 requirements; current DD Form 2760 required
- Must be familiar with all safety requirements and have a working knowledge of weapons used in training
- Must be able to distinguish between live, dye-marking, less than lethal, and blank ammunition
- Must read, understand, speak, and write English
- Able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Must sign a binding Statement of Non-Disclosure with the Government
- Capable of lifting and carrying over 40 pounds without fatigue or injury
- Able to safely maneuver in a desert environment for hard and realistic combat training scenarios
- Able to stand outdoors for 4-hour intervals in all weather conditions (heat, wind, cold, rain, snow)
- Able to maintain mobility including running in a desert environment
- Comfortable with physical restraint (e.g., handcuffs/zip-ties) during training scenarios
- Must self-supply water and sustenance for up to 12-hour periods without departing training areas
- Physical contact may be required during training scenarios
