Reserve Millwork is an established, high-end commercial woodworking company specializing in the custom fabrication of award-winning architectural millwork since 1980. We are seeking an experienced Lead Custom Craftsman to support the fabrication of high‑quality custom commercial millwork. This is a hands‑on, working‑lead position for a senior craftsman who excels at complex shop work and serves as a technical resource on the shop floor. This role does not include people management; leadership is demonstrated through craftsmanship, problem‑solving, and execution
Key Responsibilities:
· Fabricate and assemble complex custom millwork, casework, cabinetry, and architectural woodwork.
· Work directly from approved shop drawings, specifications, and material schedules.
· Perform layout, machining, assembly, sanding, and preparation for finishing.
· Serve as a technical resource for complex or high‑risk builds.
· Review shop drawings for constructability and fabrication accuracy.
· Troubleshoot fabrication challenges during production.
· Maintain consistent quality standards aligned with commercial millwork requirements (e.g., AWI/QCP).
· Coordinate with project management, engineering, finishing, and installation teams to support schedule and field success.
· Support prototypes, mockups, and first‑article builds as needed.
· Maintain safe, organized, and efficient shop practices.
Required Experience & Skills
· 7 years of hands‑on custom millwork or cabinetmaking experience, preferably in a commercial shop environment.
· Strong background working directly on the shop floor.
· Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.
· Advanced knowledge of woodworking machinery, tools, materials, and joinery.
· High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
· Strong problem‑solving skills and technical judgment.
· Ability to lead work and influence outcomes without managing people.
· CNC machining experience a plus.
Installation experience or understanding of field conditions preferred
