This entry-level internship is designed for students interested in engineering, utilities, or industrial systems who want hands-on exposure to environmental compliance, maintenance collaboration, and continuous improvement in a real manufacturing setting.
What You’ll Be Working On
Utilities & Wastewater Operations (Hands-On Learning)
- Assist with operating, inspecting, and monitoring wastewater treatment equipment under supervision
- Support collection of wastewater data, samples, and basic laboratory testing
- Learn how facility controls are adjusted to maintain required operating standards
- Observe and assist with odor control system operations
- Support special projects to identify improvement needs and ideas to return systems to base condition
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to help identify site improvement opportunities and understand how funding requests are developed
- Review control system monitoring needs
- Identify potential system improvements
- Learn how capital improvement requests are evaluated and submitted
- Learn how environmental permits, SOPs, and emergency plans are followed
- Assist with ensuring monitoring requirements align with regulatory standards
- Gain exposure to state and federal environmental compliance requirements
