Reser’s Fine Foods – Job Description
Title: Machine Operator 3
Location: Production
Reports to: Line Technician or Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
Operates all food packaging machines at maximum efficiency for food production with primary responsibility for critical machines operating complex tasks.
Essential Position Functions:
1. Operates various machines and ensures quality and conformity of packaged products.
2. Assembles and configures machines according to current specifications including setting up and operating machines for more complex tasks.
3. Ensures the machine operates within established guidelines and specifications.
4. Loads and stores correct consumables before and after each product run.
5. Washes and resets equipment during product changes according to company guidelines.
6. Maintains machine equipment and supplies and a clean orderly work area.
7. Reports machine problems according to company procedures and guidelines as needed.
8. Completes required paperwork as needed.
9. Adheres to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
10. Displays mechanical aptitude for trouble shooting and preventive maintenance. Performs advanced troubleshooting as required.
11. Displays strong leadership ability with caring attitude towards people and equipment including the training of other machine operators
12. Follows company safety guidelines, HACCP requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices.
13. Regular attendance and punctuality are required due to working with people, items and equipment that are at the facility.
Education and Experience:
1. 1 years of relevant or similar experience is preferred
2. Must be certified to operate critical food packaging machines.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Must be able to read, write, and speak English and be understood.
2. English/Spanish bilingual a plus.
3. Works independently within established procedures
4. Strong analytical and critical thinking and decision-making skills
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
1. Refrigerated food manufacturing plant.
2. The environment may be wet or dry and temperatures may range from 25°F to 110°F.
3. Requires walking and standing for long periods of time.
4. Repetitive lifting, kneeling, and bending with packages in excess of 50 lbs. is required.
5. Production demands may require overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.
