This includes women's services offering obstetrics and fertility, an emergency room, and a trauma center. We offer a Stroke Center, a walk-in clinic, and orthopedics across three Kansas City locations. Our specialty care areas include a Chest Pain Center, Level I Trauma Center, Breast Care Center, Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Programs, and Primary Stroke Center. Research Psychiatric Center is a 95 bed facility. We offer acute inpatient, day treatment, and community-based outpatient behavioral healthcare. Job Summary And Qualifications
What you will do in this role:
Attends all PACS and RIS IT&S and implementation meetings
Daily System Monitoring:
- Daily monitoring of scheduled jobs, using monitoring tools;
- Notifies the Zone PACS System Administrator of any problems and works collaboratively to solve those problems.
- Participates in Vendor training for Quality Control/Quality Assurance procedures;
- Participates in Quality Control program to assure effective functioning and maintenance of PACS System, consistent with QC procedures throughout the organization;
- Participates in and develops information for the organization’s performance indicators/quality assurance programs, including providing information to Radiology Management, Information Systems, and others as required.
- Checks system for un-archived studies;
- Checks patient information for duplicate names or patient numbers;
- Updates any generic patient information (i.e. John Doe) to reflect correct data;
- Ensure that users are marking cases as Reported and that the In-Box is not full of old cases;
- Insures that image quality is consistent and adjusts if necessary;
- Merges or moves patient folders as needed.
- Provides user training, including planning and coordinating training (personnel, site, equipment, materials) with Vendor and Division training personnel, upon System purchase and during software upgrades;
- Train new user sand provides refresher training for all users as needed;
- Participates in System Administrator and QC training provided by Vendor;
- Remains current in functionality of new software versions.
- Primary troubleshooter for all PACS operations;
- Analyzes hardware problems; notifies Zone PACS System Administrator when hardware problems associated with Vendor supplied hardware require Vendor personnel involvement and resolution;
- Analyzes and works with Vendor personnel to resolve PACS software problems, e.g., images cannot be sent or viewed, backup or HSM does not work correctly, etc.;
- Analyzes and works with Zone PACS System Administrator to resolve software communication problems, including modality communication problems, RIS communication problems, etc.
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- Three years’ experience in imaging required. One year with computer based imaging applications such as PACS, preferred.
