As a member of RFL’s laboratory team, the lab technician is responsible for the day to day performance of assigned laboratory and distribution operations, processes and procedures.
Required Elements
Education/Experience:
· Bachelor of Science in Biology or related field
- Surgical tech experience
- MA experience
- OR experience
- ER tech
- Phlebotomy
· Valid driver’s license and insurance
Essential Job Functions:
Must be able to work 7:30am-4pm
· Responsible for reading and understanding everything in the employee handbook.
· Performs assigned laboratory and distribution systems, processes, and procedures.
· Participates in RFL’s quality management system and regulatory adherence.
· Performs procurement, packaging, labeling, distribution of tissue, supply, and cleaning activities as assigned.
· Maintains facilities and supplies according to the needs of the laboratory and distribution departments.
· Participates in training activities as directed.
· Performs intra and interstate driving as directed.
· Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
· Prepares technical reports to include statistical analysis as needed.
· Understanding and proficiency in applicable federal, state and local laws and accreditation standards.
· Must be willing to be trained on RFLs SOPM’s and demonstrate knowledge of the training.
· Perform and work in a team environment
· Must be able to perform daily tasks utilizing RFL’s database and computer systems such as general knowledge of Microsoft software
· Safety sensitive position with access to personal and health information of donors and must maintain confidentiality.
- Including but not limited to the following tasks:
· Performing physical assessments of whole body cadavers, blood draws, and following a procurement plan for removal of various body tissues.
· Disinfecting/Cleaning of the lab areas.
· Preparing lab for education and surgical training
· Preparing shipments of specimens.
· Some travel required for out of office labs up to 5 percent of the time.
Personal Elements:
· Must perform well under stress.
· Ability to lift 75 LBs using proper/safe lifting techniques.
· Must comprehend and be familiar with regulating agencies and their requirements.
· Must possess character attributes that contribute to the growth and success of the company.
· Must be willing to travel up to 5%
· Must be aligned with RFL’s mission and high level of commitment to donor’s and donor families.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
