Snow Plow Operator

We are seeking energetic and dependable Snow Plow Drivers to join our dynamic winter maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating snow plowing equipment to ensure clear and accessible roads, driveways, and parking areas during winter storms. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment while making a tangible difference in community safety and mobility.ResponsibilitiesOperate snow plow trucks and related equipment efficiently to clear snow and ice from designated roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and pathways.Conduct pre-operation inspections of plowing machinery, including checking fluid levels, hydraulics, lights, and safety features.Follow established routes and prioritize areas based on safety needs and operational directives.Apply salt or de-icing materials as needed to prevent ice formation and enhance traction.Communicate effectively with team members regarding route progress, hazards, or equipment issues.Maintain accurate logs of work completed, including areas cleared and materials used.Perform routine maintenance on plowing equipment, including minor repairs or notifying maintenance teams of larger issues.Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic regulations while operating heavy machinery in various weather conditions.QualificationsProven experience operating snow plow trucks or similar heavy machinery preferred.Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks and troubleshoot equipment issues.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) certification is a plus.Knowledge of landscaping, lawn care, or landscape maintenance is beneficial for seasonal transitions.Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, excavators, or construction equipment is advantageous.Ability to work outdoors in cold weather conditions for extended periods.Strong attention to safety procedures and a detail-oriented mindset.Excellent communication skills for coordination with team members and supervisors.
