Position Overview
The Research Services Coordinator, under direction, coordinates the review of sponsored and non-sponsored research agreements and monitors on-going agreements to ensure compliance. Negotiates sponsored and non-sponsored research agreements and their terms and conditions in compliance with the law and policy and procedure, and coordinates with researchers on updating annual disclosures and management plans.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Research Agreements & Contract Administration
- Assist with negotiating sponsored and non-sponsored research agreements to ensure compliance with university policies and applicable federal and state laws
- Review, analyze, and coordinate terms and conditions of agreements for compliance and institutional requirements
- Track agreements to ensure timely execution and maintain accurate agreement logs
- Coordinate resolution of contract issues with researchers, department heads, and academic leadership
- Review and process related agreements including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Confidentiality Agreements, and Data Transfer Agreements
- Coordinate consultations with the Office of General Counsel, Technology Commercialization, TAMUS Risk & Compliance, and other relevant offices
- Facilitate revisions and approvals related to award documents, including budget changes, Principal Investigator changes, time extensions, and funding modifications
- Coordinate issuance and modification of subawards throughout the award lifecycle
- Monitor compliance of research agreements to ensure ongoing adherence to federal, state, and University regulations
- Assist in identifying and researching new and emerging regulatory requirements
- Support Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) compliance processes, including annual disclosures and management plans
- Assist in monitoring nepotism and other research-related compliance matters
- Support subrecipient monitoring activities and FFATA reporting requirements
- Assist with issuing New Award Notices and coordinating compliance review and account establishment
- Support proposal preparation, review, and submission processes as needed
- Manage communications through the ORI/OSR shared email system for research administration inquiries
- Maintain and update internal tracking systems and databases for agreements and awards
- Prepare and assist with monthly and ad hoc reports
- Coordinate with sponsors, researchers, and administrative staff to support project and award administration
- Process and deposit incoming checks in coordination with the Business Office
- Attend meetings (e.g., JAG) and communicate updates to the office

- Education – Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience – Two years of related experience in a university or business environment performing duties related to accounting and/or developing budgets, and/or project management, and/or proposal administration including proposal preparation and/or identifying potential sponsor/funding opportunities.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to positively and professionally interact with faculty, staff and sponsors
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of office software and other programs
- Ability to orally comprehend and express information and use inductive and deductive reasoning
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
Physical Requirements
- Some lifting/carrying of classroom/presentation materials (specify weight limitations specific to program needs i.e. ability to lift, carry, load or unload up to _10___lbs. of instructional materials)
- Ability to travel independently to other and/or remote locations by driving and/or flying on commercial airlines
- This position is security sensitive
- This position will require export-control authorization prior to starting employment.
