The Technical Laboratory Coordinator, under general direction, coordinates and oversees the daily operational activities of a laboratory. Ensures adherence to lab standards and practices.
This is an on-site position located on Tarleton's campus in Fort Worth, Texas. This is a temporary casual position with a maximum of 19 hours per week and non-benefits eligible. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
Responsibilities
Required Education and Experience:
The target base hourly compensation is $19.04 per hour and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position. This is a temporary casual position with a maximum of 19 hours per week and non-benefits eligible.

Responsibilities
- Coordinates and oversees the daily operational activities of a laboratory. Ensures adherence to lab standards and practices.
- Oversees procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies, chemical storage, safety labeling and inventory control. Maintains inventory supplies and records.
- Oversees the maintenance of laboratory facilities, equipment and instrumentation and arranges for repairs. Evaluates existing laboratory facilities and recommends improvements.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for laboratory. Develops procedures for the use of laboratory instrumentation.
- Ensures proper storage, handling and disposal of laboratory waste.
- Assists in the development and update of instructional materials for teaching laboratories. Assists in the development and testing of new experiments and curricula.
- Supervises laboratory staff and students in the handling and preparation of laboratory materials.
- Coordinates teaching assignments for laboratory sections. May teach undergraduate lab courses.
- May supervise assigned staff.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Three years of related experience in laboratory operations.
- Knowledge of computers and mainframe environments. Knowledge of standard laboratory equipment. Oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
