What We Want

The Project Coordinator III supports the day-to-day operations of an opioid prevention grant program serving a single Regional Healthcare Partnership (RHP) region in Texas. Under general supervision of the Project Director, the Project Coordinator III supports the Project Manager III and the project team by coordinating and assisting with the completion of core project activities, including community outreach and prevention events, behavioral health service linkage and referral navigation support, and connecting individuals and families within the RHP region to opioid prevention resources and overdose education. This position benefits from familiarity with behavioral health systems and referral pathways but does not require clinical licensure.

Location/Schedule: College Station, TX/Full-Time; This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.

Responsibilities

Project Coordination and Management

  • Coordinates core project activities supporting opioid prevention outreach and resource linkage initiatives within the assigned RHP region, including presentations, awareness campaigns, and community implementation events.
  • Assists in developing and assessing work plans, schedules, and project controls to ensure core activities align with grant deliverables, timelines, and organizational objectives.
  • Prepares forecasting and progress reports against milestones, budgetary updates, and the change management process for core activities within the RHP region.
  • Monitors and prepares reports on financial activity and resource utilization for the assigned grant budget.
  • Coordinates with the Project Manager III, project team, and partner organizations within the RHP region to ensure cross-project dependencies and impacts are identified and managed.

Resource and Referral Service Support

  • Assists in coordinating behavioral health service connections, including scheduling and logistics for warm handoffs, telehealth navigation, and referral pathway documentation for individuals and families within the RHP region.
  • Supports individual and family access to opioid prevention resources and overdose education programming by helping connect them to appropriate community-based services within the RHP region.
  • Coordinates with vendors, community partners, and healthcare providers in the delivery and support of resources and services; maintains database integrity, security, and accuracy of program and participant data in compliance with applicable privacy requirements.

Policy and Compliance Oversight

  • Helps ensure core activities comply with university and system policies, rules, and procedures, as well as grant requirements and funder expectations.
  • Interprets program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations and helps ensure they are followed.
  • Supports adherence to evidence-informed prevention models, harm reduction approaches, and trauma-informed care frameworks across core activities.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepares and assists with training and operational materials, including onboarding documentation for new team members and community collaborators.
  • Writes reports, meeting summaries, and other related materials documenting core activities, service linkages, and referral outcomes within the RHP region.
  • Collects and organizes implementation data to support continuous quality improvement and funder reporting.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Five years of related experience in project coordination/administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use prevention, public health, or community outreach settings.
  • Familiarity with evidence-informed prevention models, harm reduction approaches, and trauma-informed care frameworks.
  • Experience coordinating community health events, outreach campaigns, health fairs, or training programs.
  • Knowledge of school-based or youth-centered health services, including telehealth platforms and referral protocols.
  • Familiarity with naloxone access, overdose education, and related opioid prevention initiatives.
