Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Set Medic to join our dynamic production team. As a vital member of the crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of performers and crew members during rehearsals, performances, and filming. Your expertise in emergency medical procedures and trauma care will help maintain a safe environment, allowing the show to run smoothly and confidently. Duties
- Provide immediate medical attention to performers and crew members experiencing injuries or health issues on set or during rehearsals
- Assess patient conditions swiftly using vital signs, physical examinations, and medical terminology to determine urgency and appropriate response
- Manage airway obstructions, administer injections, perform venipuncture, and operate medical equipment as needed during emergencies
- Coordinate with emergency services for critical care transport or hospital transfer, including navigating city streets safely and efficiently
- Maintain aseptic techniques during treatment procedures and ensure all incident reports are accurately documented
- Assist with trauma medicine protocols such as trauma care, cardiovascular emergency response, neonatal resuscitation procedures, and pediatric emergency care
- Support incident command efforts during emergencies by executing designated roles in crisis management and ensuring safety protocols are followed
Qualifications
- EMT certification with demonstrated skills in patient assessment, airway management, vital signs monitoring, and basic life support (BLS) certification required as a minimum, With an ALS certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, trauma medicine, and trauma care procedures
- Experience with patient transport logistics, emergency vehicle operation, heavy lifting, and driving under urgent conditions
- Familiarity with pediatric emergency care, neonatal resuscitation procedures, DME (Durable Medical Equipment), injection administration, venipuncture, and physical examinations
- Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with team members and emergency responders effectively
