Under general direction and with latitude for independent judgment, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire recruitment process, which encompasses job postings, thorough resume screening, conducting interviews with candidates, and finalizing the recruitment cycle.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with, or demonstrate a willingness to learn about, the pre-employment background screening process.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, which entails conducting orientation sessions and efficiently processing new hire documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related issues, including benefits, policies, and procedures.
- Assists with benefit enrollments, employee leave requests, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, and Disability.
- Manage employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and resolving conflicts.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with performance management, including conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to employees and managers.
- Manage HR-related projects and initiatives assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 3 years of experience in Human Resources.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Paycor).
- Valid NYS Driver License in compliance with Rescue Mission safety policy.
- Comfort in presenting to an audience of varying sizes; public speaking ability preferred.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
