Pay rate: $21.00-$23.00 per hour.

Your contribution will help us continue our mission and make a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.

This is a full-time position demanding the utmost discretion and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional organizational skills and demonstrate proficiency in HR management tasks. This role is critical in driving the recruiting and application process for new candidates, administering employee benefits and leaves, managing employee relations, and actively contributing to the development of HR policies.

Under general direction and with latitude for independent judgment, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire recruitment process, which encompasses job postings, thorough resume screening, conducting interviews with candidates, and finalizing the recruitment cycle.
• Candidates should possess familiarity with, or demonstrate a willingness to learn about, the pre-employment background screening process.
• Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, which entails conducting orientation sessions and efficiently processing new hire documentation.
• Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related issues, including benefits, policies, and procedures.
• Assists with benefit enrollments, employee leave requests, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, and Disability.
• Manage employee relations issues, including conducting investigations and resolving conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
• Assist with performance management, including conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to employees and managers.
• Manage HR-related projects and initiatives assigned.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
• 3 years of experience in Human Resources.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Paycor).
• Valid NYS Driver License in compliance with Rescue Mission safety policy.
• Comfort in presenting to an audience of varying sizes; public speaking ability preferred.
• Spanish speaking preferred.
