Automotive Technician Apprentice

Resch Auto Service is a family owned and operated repair shop that has been serving Spencerport and surrounding communities since 1959.  We are currently seeking an early career Automotive Technician with a strong mechanical acumen and a willingness to gain on the job experience to grow their diagnostic and repair skills.

Responsibilities:

• Vehicle Diagnostics: Diagnose and identify vehicle issues through visual inspections, computerized diagnostic equipment, and customer-provided information.
• Repairs and Maintenance: Perform mechanical, electrical, and technical repairs on various vehicle systems, including but not limited to ignition, brake, emission and suspension components. Conduct routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct Road tests and inspection checks to verify that vehicles are functioning correctly after repairs. Ensure that all repair work meets quality and safety standards.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all service work, including parts used, work performed and other pertinent information.
• Compliance: Stay current with industry best practices, safety regulations, and environmental standards. This includes all New York state Inspection requirements and guidelines 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• The ability to lift ~40 lbs. regularly
• Some Experience as an Automotive Mechanic or similar role desired
• After 1 year, obtain and maintain NY state inspection license
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to perform test drives. 
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and willingness to learn on the job.
• Some experience utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
