Help power the daily operations of our Lumber Warehouse by organizing, preparing, and delivering raw materials to production—safely, efficiently, and in alignment with reSAWN’s material standards. You will be a key collaborator with the Lumber Supervisor, Senior Lumber Assistants, and the broader team to ensure every board is ready when production needs it.
Your impact areas
- Material prep: Use basic industry tools to get raw lumber production-ready; stage materials to match work orders; perform safe, accurate cuts with a radial arm saw.
- Inventory stewardship: Partner with Senior Lumber Assistants and the Lumber Supervisor to handle and stage physical inventory; conduct counts and support Inventory Checks; keep precise in/out records; apply math and measurement to confirm quantities; learn to operate forklifts to move and position materials.
- Quality assurance: Compare materials to work orders, grade lumber to industry and reSAWN internal standards, and flag any defects or inconsistencies before they reach production.
- Logistics support: Assist the Driver with strapping and preparing the truck; stage materials for deliveries and internal transfers.
- Warehouse organization: Build pallets for safe storage and handling; maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workspace; contribute to general warehouse upkeep.
Scenario: a rush order lands
You quickly verify specs, stage the exact quantities, make clean cuts on the radial arm saw, double-check counts against the work order, and help move materials to the line—then assist the Driver in strapping the load for an on-time delivery. Throughout, you keep records accurate and the warehouse floor clear.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Comfort with basic math and measurement; confident using a tape measure and basic tools.
- Collaborative approach and commitment to safety and warehouse protocols.
Physical requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Kneel, bend, twist, push, and perform manual tasks as needed.
- Stand and walk for extended periods (8 hours or more).
