What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Disbursing Specialist position at Res/Title?
Res/Title has been a leading title and settlement company in the real estate and title insurance industry since 1994. We are currently seeking a Disbursing Specialist to join our team at our headquarters in Rhode Island. In this role, you will be responsible for balancing files, managing escrow funds, issuing disbursements, and ensuring all financial components of each closing are accurate, compliant, and completed on time.
Key Responsibilities:
· Review closing packages and settlement statements for accuracy prior to disbursement.
· Balance all file receipts, wires, lender proceeds, and deposit items.
· Issue disbursements via check or wire in accordance with state, federal, and underwriter regulations.
· Communicate with lenders, realtors, and internal team members regarding funding status and any required documentation.
· Process payoffs, recordation fees, commissions, invoices, and taxes associated with each file.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, ALTA best practices, and all applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
· 1–3 years of experience in title, settlement, escrow, or real estate finance preferred.
· Strong understanding of settlement statements, funding requirements, and escrow accounting.
· Experience with title production software, SoftPro, is a plus.
· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with financial data.
· Strong communication and customer service skills.
· Ability to manage multiple files in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
· High level of integrity and commitment to proper handling of escrow funds.
