Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with a strong background in Banking and Mainframe Application Development & Support. The ideal candidate will have 8–10 years of experience working on enterprise mainframe applications, providing both development and production support while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex business and technical issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in Mainframe Application Development and Systems Analysis.
- Strong experience in Mainframe Application Support.
- Banking domain experience is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with:
- COBOL
- CICS
- JCL
- DB2
- VSAM
- Strong knowledge of:
- Easytrieve
- CA-7
- PANVALET
- XPEDITOR
- PANAPT
- FILEAID
- Experience working with file structures including:
- VSAM
- GDG
- Fixed Block
- Variable Block
- Strong knowledge of:
- TSO
- ISPF/ISPF-PDF
- FTP
- Experience with Job Control Language (JCL) execution and batch processing.
- Experience developing COBOL-DB2 applications and CICS-based programs.
- Knowledge of VSAM dataset processing and dataset allocation.
- Exposure to REXX scripting (preferred).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and support enterprise Mainframe applications.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot complex application issues.
- Analyze business requirements and investigate complex business cases by reviewing application code.
- Support incident, problem, and job scheduling activities.
- Collaborate with development and support teams to ensure application stability and performance.
- Maintain technical documentation and update document repositories.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
- Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with REXX scripting.
- Experience in Job Scheduling, Incident Management, and Problem Management processes.
- Exposure to CICS administration is a plus.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
