RepublicEVS is an expanding emergency vehicle dealership dedicated to servicing and upfitting first responder vehicles. We are moving into a new, larger facility and are looking for a dedicated and experienced technician to join our small, growing team. If you are passionate about diagnostics, vehicle electronics, and ensuring our emergency fleets are mission-ready, we want to hear from you.Position SummaryThe Automotive Repair Technician will be responsible for the mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance of emergency vehicles. This is a hybrid role involving hands-on technical work, detailed diagnostics, and light administrative duties to support warranty and parts claims.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Service & Diagnostics:Perform routine maintenance and complex diagnostics on specialized emergency vehicles (patrol cars, trucks, etc.).Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components.Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues.Perform repairs in compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.Upfitting & Installation:Install, configure, and maintain low-voltage electronic equipment, including:Emergency lighting and light barsSiren and speaker systemsMobile communication radios and antennasIn-car video and computer systemsDesign and fabricate mounting fixtures and wiring harness assemblies for customized vehicle installations.Ensure all electrical work meets manufacturer and industry specifications.Administrative & Communication:Manage parts requests and warranty claims, primarily using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) software.Communicate directly with customers to explain service work, diagnostics, and repairs.Maintain accurate, detailed records of all maintenance, installation, and parts used.Qualifications & Requirements:Experience: Previous experience as an Automotive Technician, Low-Voltage Installer, or similar field is strongly preferred.Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and diagnostics. Experience with low-voltage wiring and schematics is a significant plus.Certifications:Must be willing to obtain an EPA Section 609 Certification (required for AC/refrigerant work) shortly after hireEVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) certification is a plus, but not required.Soft Skills: Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for office administration.Work Environment: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a typical shop environment.
