POSITION SUMMARY: Business Solution Architect I (multiple openings – 2) sought by Republic Services in Phoenix, AZ. Participate in project-driven activities to capture business needs, processes, requirements, use cases, project plans, and related documentation and specifications. Work effectively with functional and technical analysts, bringing an enterprise, cross-functional perspective to the project team(s), resulting in unified business requirements and streamlined processes that increasingly meet Company goals and initiatives. Use Business Analysis and Business Process Engineering (BPE) methods and tools and provides insights and instruction to other analysts to ensure proper requirements elicitation and documentation is in place. May lead cross-functional teams, and/or makes significant contributions to team effectiveness in improving the methodology, tools, and/or internal processes.

SUSTAINABILITY INNOVATION
Republic’s recent innovations to advance circularity and decarbonization demonstrate our unique ability to leverage sustainability as a platform for growth.
The Republic Services Polymer Center is the nation’s first integrated plastics recycling facility. This innovative site processes rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of Polymer Centers and Blue Polymer facilities across North America.
We continue to advance decarbonization at our landfills. As demand for renewable energy continues to grow, we have 70 landfill gas-to-energy projects in operation and plan to expand our portfolio to 115 projects by 2028.
RECENT RECOGNITION
Principal Responsibilities
- Bring a cross functional perspective to project teams and ensures alignment of requirements and deliverables across multiple initiatives. Perform profiling and analysis of data from source systems.
- Use business process engineering methods to ensure proper documentation is in place.
- Discover unified requirements and streamlined processes that meet company objectives for multiple strategic projects.
- Define the data shared across the enterprise and the relationships between those data.
- Work with the appropriate functional and IT associates to find the best solutions (across technology and process) to ensure business processes make the most efficient and effective use of the technology deployed.
- Provide support to functional and user acceptance testing groups throughout development life cycle.
- Assist with the creation of value proposition (ROI) for proposed projects.
- Help the team to define and control scope for development initiatives and identify risks.
- Work with the functional leads to specify in detail how the service will be delivered, roles and responsibilities, effort, and how to measure success of the service.
- Create a framework and best practices for developing user/business centric solution recommendations and proposals.
- Define the external entities (e.g., customers, suppliers, and external systems) that interact with the business; and the people, resources and controls involved in the processes.
- Instruct, direct, guide, and check the work of Business Analysts.
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 7 years of direct work experience in a business analyst capacity working with business systems related to systems support, analysis, or development.
- 3 years of experience in a lead position providing leadership and mentoring to other Business Analysts.
